Office to provide the necessary accommodation. $4,500 has
been inserted for the construction of a permanent stairway
leading from the ballroom at Government House to the ground
below for the convenience of guests. I have included
$8,000 for an additional room at Queen's College to re-
-place the very limited and temporary accommodation at
present available for the normal class and to provide for
its expansion next year in connection with a scheme for
supplying the Anglo-Chinese Schools with a trained native
staff (see Education Estimates). $2,200 has been estimated
for a market at Aberdeen on the recommendation of the
Sanitary Board. The work will be productive. Plans of the
various buildings are enclosed.
The sun inserted under "Communica-
-tions" for new roads in Kowloon will be devoted to the
extension of Robinson Road and of Argyll Street which will
cross it at right angles and connect Yaumati with the
railway station of that name; and, as far as funds will
permit, to the development of main thoroughfares in the
Conclosure 7.
